A Porta Potty for Your Home Remodel or Septic Failure

A porta potty for a home remodel or septic failure keeps your family at home while the bathroom or the tank is out of service.

Live answer Mon–Sat 7 AM–7 PM. Phone quotes take about 5 minutes.

Do I need a porta potty during a bathroom remodel?

A porta potty makes sense during a bathroom remodel when the home has only 1 bathroom, or when the work shuts off water to the whole house. A crew working on site also needs a toilet. One unit near the house covers both the family and the workers.

Homes with a second bathroom often skip it. Then again, a crew of four tracking through your hallway all day gets old fast.

Kitchen remodels, additions and new pools follow the same logic. If the crew needs the house bathroom, a unit outside saves wear and keeps dust out.

Is a porta potty cheaper than staying in a hotel?

A porta potty is almost always cheaper than hotel nights for a remodel or septic repair that runs more than a night or two. One rental covers the whole family for up to 7 days, or a full 28-day cycle with weekly service. You also stay home to watch the work.

Hotels add meals out, gas and kennel costs. A unit by the back door adds none of those.

A hotel can still make sense for a family with a baby or someone who can't walk outside at night. See the pricing guide to compare numbers.

How fast can I get a porta potty when my septic fails?

Same-day delivery is available in the Florence area when you call by 12 noon, Monday to Saturday, and a truck is open that day. The phone call confirms it in minutes. Calls after noon get the first slot the next delivery day.

A backed-up septic tank or a broken sewer line can't wait. Our emergency porta potty page covers what to have ready when you call.

Have the address, a spot picked out, and how many people live in the house.

Will my insurance pay for a porta potty?

Jeremy Rental Works gives you an itemized invoice with the address, dates, unit and every charge, which is what most insurance adjusters ask for. Whether your policy pays is up to your insurer. Ask your adjuster if temporary toilet costs fall under your claim before you book.

Keep the invoice and your payment receipt together. Take a photo of the unit in place for your claim file.

Landlords with a septic failure at a rental house can book for the tenant. The invoice can go in the owner's name.

Where should the porta potty go during the work?

Place the porta potty close to the back door on level, firm ground, at least 10 feet from low wires. During septic work, keep it well away from the tank, the drain field and the path the excavator will use. A short, lit walk matters for nighttime trips.

A solar path light or a porch light turned on at night helps a lot. Kids and older family members will thank you.

For a family, a deluxe unit with a sink is worth a look. Anyone who uses a walker or wheelchair will do better in a wheelchair-accessible unit with a ground-level entry.

How long do remodels and septic repairs usually run?

A bathroom remodel often runs several weeks from demo to final fixtures. A septic repair can take a few days, and a full system replacement can take longer when permits, inspections or rain slow it down. Your contractor's schedule is the best guide for how long to rent.

Build in a little cushion. Tile, fixtures and inspections tend to push dates back.

Remodels that need a building permit go through the City of Florence inside city limits, or Florence County planning and inspections outside them.

Should I rent short-term or monthly?

Rent short-term when the work will be done within 7 days, since one flat price covers up to 7 days. Rent monthly for anything longer. A monthly rental bills every 28 days, includes one service visit per week, and renews until you call for pickup.

There is no partial refund for returning early inside a 28-day cycle. Billing stops the day you ask for pickup, and we collect the unit within 2 business days.

Compare the two on the short-term rental page and the monthly rental page.

Remodel and septic repair questions

Where should the porta potty go during a bathroom remodel?

Set it near the door the family uses most, on level, firm ground, and keep it away from the septic lid and any dig area. A driveway edge or side yard works. A porch light helps at night, since a standard unit has no electric light inside.

Is there an extra charge for same-day delivery when my septic fails?

Same-day delivery starts at a $75 fee on top of the rental. Same-day orders can't be refunded once the truck is dispatched, so call as soon as you know the toilet is out.

Can you pump out my home septic tank?

We pump and service portable toilets and RV or camper holding tanks, not home septic tanks. Call a licensed septic contractor for the tank, and we will cover the toilet while they work.

Can my contractor pay for the porta potty instead of me?

Payment can come from any card holder by phone or a secure payment link. Contractors with an approved account can be invoiced directly. Tell us on the booking call who is paying.

What if the remodel finishes early?

Call or text for pickup and billing stops that day. We pick up within 2 business days. There is no partial refund for the unused days of a 28-day cycle.
