Festival and Public Event Porta Potties in Florence

Festival porta potty rental in Florence for street festivals, fairground shows and large public events, with accessible units in every cluster.

Live answer Mon–Sat 7 AM–7 PM. Phone quotes take about 5 minutes.

How many porta potties does a festival need?

A festival needs 1 standard unit per 50 guests as a base, plus 1 unit per 100 guests when it runs over 4 hours, plus the same again when alcohol is sold. A 1,000-person, 8-hour festival with a beer garden needs 40 units. Size each day by that day's expected attendance.

The math step by step is on our porta potty sizing guide. Accessible counts above assume one cluster; more clusters can raise them.

How many accessible units go in each cluster?

Section 213.2 of the 2010 ADA Standards says at least 5% of portable toilets in each cluster, and never fewer than 1, must be accessible. That works out to 1 in every 20. A cluster of 12 needs 1 accessible unit, and a cluster of 24 needs 2.

The rule is on the U.S. Access Board ADA 213 page. Our wheelchair-accessible units have ground-level entry, grab bars and about a 60-inch turning space. Place them on the firmest, flattest ground in each cluster, closest to a paved path.

How should festival porta potty clusters be laid out?

Festival porta potties work best in 3 or more clusters spread across the grounds, not one long row. Put clusters near the entry, the food court and any beer garden or stage. Each cluster gets its own accessible unit and hand wash stations at the end where people exit.

  • Leave a lane the pump truck can reach for mid-event service.
  • Face doors toward a lit walkway, away from food lines.
  • Give vendors their own small cluster behind the booths, with a hand wash station.
  • On paved lots like the Florence Center area, units sit flat on asphalt with no staking.

Race weekends and other multi-day crowds have their own playbook in our Darlington race weekend planning guide.

Can units be serviced during a multi-day festival?

Festival units can be serviced between event days with added service visits. Visits run 7 AM to 7 PM, Monday to Saturday, so the best slot is early morning before gates open. There is no Sunday service, so a Saturday-Sunday festival needs a Saturday morning visit and extra units for Sunday.

Each visit pumps the tanks, washes the inside, and restocks paper and sanitizer. Hand wash stations get fresh water at the same time. Plan on one visit per day of a busy event with a bar.

Vendor tents and VIP areas sometimes want flushing toilets with sinks. A restroom trailer fits there, as long as it has power, water and room for the tow vehicle.

What does a downtown Florence street festival need to apply?

Downtown Florence street festivals apply through the Florence Downtown Development Office at City Center, 324 W. Evans St. Summer and fall festivals apply in January, and winter and spring festivals apply in July. Only qualifying 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(6) nonprofits may host a downtown street festival.

A street closure needs approval from the City, the Florence Police Department and the Downtown Development Corp. board. The rules are on the Florence Downtown festival page. Restroom counts are not listed there, so confirm them with that office, then bring the number to us.

For a smaller private gathering, our party and event page is the better fit.

Festival restroom questions

How much does it cost to rent 20 porta potties for a festival?

Twenty standard units start at $3,500 for up to 7 days, at $175 each with delivery and pickup. Wheelchair-accessible units start at $225, hand wash stations at $125, and each added service visit is $65. Tax is extra, and large orders get an itemized quote.

Can festival units be serviced on a Sunday?

Service and pickup do not run on Sunday. For a Saturday-Sunday festival, book a Saturday morning service visit and add a few units to carry Sunday. Pickup happens Monday.

Who decides how many restrooms a downtown Florence festival must have?

The Florence Downtown Development Office handles street festival applications and does not post a restroom count. Confirm their number, then we size the order with our house method so it meets both.

Can a VIP tent or vendor area get flushing restrooms?

A 2-stall restroom trailer starts at $1,150 for a weekend and a 4-stall at $1,950. Each needs a 110V outlet and a hose connection. Without them, a generator starts at $175 a day and a water tank at $150.

How do we keep lines short at the beer garden?

Alcohol adds 1 unit per 100 guests on top of the base count, so a 600-person beer garden adds 6 units. Put that cluster within sight of the bar, with its own hand wash station.

Can festival units be locked overnight between days?

A lock hasp is available on request for each unit. Bring your own padlocks and leave the codes or keys with us so the morning service visit can happen.

Can units be set on Thursday for a Friday opening?

Thursday delivery is available on request for weekend events at no extra charge. Large orders take a full day to place, so earlier setup also gives time to fix any spot that is blocked.
