What happens to rentals during a hurricane evacuation?

During an evacuation order, US-501 can run one way inland from SC-22 to Marion and from SC-544 to US-378. That is the road our trucks use to reach the coast. Ask for pickup, or for units laid down or strapped, as soon as a storm is named, before the governor orders an evacuation.

Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30. Once lanes reverse, trucks cannot head toward the coast until the order lifts. Read the routes on the Horry County evacuation page and our hurricane season tips.

Can a porta potty sit on sand near the beach?

A porta potty needs level, firm ground, and loose beach sand is not firm. A standard unit weighs about 175 pounds empty and grows heavier as the 60-gallon tank fills, so it can lean in soft sand. Choose packed ground, gravel, a driveway or pavement, then strap units exposed to ocean wind.

Our crew can roll a standard unit about 50 feet from the truck, but not across deep sand.

Who issues building permits in Horry County?

Horry County Code Enforcement issues building permits and inspects new work in unincorporated areas from 1301 Second Avenue, Suite 1D09, in Conway, open weekdays 8 AM to 5 PM. The office also enforces the National Flood Insurance Program, so low lots may face flood rules. Myrtle Beach, Conway and other cities issue their own permits.

Check steps with Horry County Code Enforcement. In summer heat, busy jobsite toilets do better with a second weekly service.

Which units fit a Grand Strand wedding or rental house event?

Grand Strand weddings usually call for a restroom trailer or a deluxe unit with a sink. A trailer needs a standard 110V outlet within 100 feet and a garden-hose hookup, or our generator and water tank add-ons. It also needs about 30 feet of straight, level access for the tow vehicle.

Compare trailers and sink units on our wedding restroom page.

Horry County porta potty questions

Why is Horry County delivery usually the next business day?

Conway and Myrtle Beach are 65 to 75 miles from our Florence yard, so coast deliveries run on a scheduled route. Same-day happens only when a truck is already nearby, and then the same-day fee starts at $75.

What is the trip fee to Myrtle Beach or Conway?

The trip fee is quoted by mileage from our yard. A standard event unit starts at $175 with delivery and pickup, so your quote shows the unit, the trip fee and tax as separate lines.

Can you pick up my units before an evacuation order?

Pickup before a named storm is available on request. Call as soon as the storm is named, because lane reversals on US-501 stop trucks from heading to the coast once an order is issued.

How much is a restroom trailer for a beach-area wedding?

A 3-stall restroom trailer starts at $1,550 for a weekend, plus a trip fee by mileage. With no power on site, the generator add-on starts at $175 per day, and a water tank starts at $150.

Can a Conway jobsite unit sit on a low, flood-prone lot?

Low lots in Horry County can flood after heavy rain, so set the unit on the highest firm, level ground on the lot, away from ditches and standing water. Keep it off septic lids and 10 feet from low wires. Horry County Code Enforcement also enforces flood rules on new building work.

Can you deliver to North Myrtle Beach or Little River?

North Myrtle Beach and Little River are on our Horry County route, about 1 hour 45 minutes from our yard. Book a few days ahead for those areas, especially for summer weekends.
