Porta Potty Rental Questions, Answered
Straight answers about booking, delivery, prices, cleaning and rules. Each answer leads with the fact you need. For unit-specific questions, see the FAQ on each rental page.
What should I know before renting a porta potty?
Before renting a porta potty, know 5 things: your delivery address, your drop-off and pickup dates, the unit type, the number of units and your guest count or crew size. With those 5 details, Jeremy Rental Works can quote, schedule and confirm your Florence rental in a single 5-minute phone call.

Booking and quotes
What information do you need to give me a quote?
We need 5 things: the delivery address or ZIP, the drop-off and pickup dates, the unit type, how many units, and the guest count or crew size. With those, a phone quote takes about 5 minutes and lists every charge.
Can you text or email the quote so I can show my spouse or boss?
Every quote can be sent by text or email with the unit, dates, delivery and pickup, servicing and tax on separate lines. Forward it to whoever approves the spend, then call or reply to book.
How long is a price quote good for?
A written quote holds for 7 days. Unit availability does not hold, though, so a busy Saturday in May or June can sell out before you book. Booking locks both the price and the unit.
How far ahead should I book for a Saturday in May or June?
Book 2 to 3 weeks ahead for a Saturday between late April and June. Graduation parties, weddings and reunions stack up on the same weekends. Restroom trailers should be booked 1 to 2 months ahead for any season.
Are you a local company or a booking broker?
Jeremy Rental Works is a local operator. The units, trucks and drivers work out of our yard at 3345 Willow Creek Rd in Florence. When you call (843) 268-6817, the Florence office answers and schedules the truck directly.
Can I see the actual unit before I rent it?
We can text you photos of the exact unit type, inside and out, before you book. You can also see units at our Florence yard by appointment, Monday to Saturday.
Can I reserve a unit now and add more later?
Book what you know now to hold the date. Extra units, a hand wash station or an upgrade to a sink unit can be added by phone up to 24 hours before delivery, if stock allows.
Delivery and placement
Can you give me an exact delivery time?
Deliveries run from 7 AM to 7 PM, and routes are built each morning, so an exact minute cannot be promised. We can note "morning" on your order, and the driver calls about 30 minutes before arriving.
Can I send a map pin instead of a street address?
A dropped map pin works well for farm fields, hunting land, new lots and campsites. Text the pin to (843) 268-6817 with a short note, such as "left of the barn, 20 feet off the gravel road".
Can the porta potty come and go on the same day?
Same-day drop and pickup is not offered for events. The unit comes the business day before and leaves the business day after, at the same flat price. That way the unit is in place well before your first guest.
Will your truck damage my lawn or driveway?
Our trucks stay on the driveway or street whenever possible, and the crew rolls standard units the rest of the way on a dolly. Soft, rain-soaked ground can rut, so tell us if your yard is wet and we will plan a firmer spot.
Can you move the unit to a new spot after delivery?
A move on the same property can be done on a service visit or a separate trip. Call or text with the new spot. Please do not move a unit yourself, because a full tank can tip and spill.
Can a porta potty sit on the street in front of my house?
Placing a unit on a public street, sidewalk or right-of-way needs approval from the city or county first. Inside Florence city limits, ask the City of Florence. Keep the unit in your driveway or yard to avoid a permit.
Does my HOA allow a porta potty in the driveway?
Many homeowners associations allow a short-term unit for a party or remodel, but rules vary. Check your HOA covenants first. We can place the unit beside the garage or behind the house so it is not seen from the street.
Prices and billing
Do you charge by the hour or by the day?
Rentals are never billed by the hour or by the day. An event rental is one flat price for up to 7 days. A long-term rental is one price per 28-day cycle, with weekly service included.
Is the delivery fee charged for each unit?
The delivery and pickup charge is per trip, not per unit, for units going to the same address on the same day. Three units at one party share one delivery. Separate addresses are separate trips.
Is sales tax included in the price?
Prices on our site are before South Carolina sales tax. Your itemized quote shows the tax as its own line, so the total you approve is the total you pay.
Why does a porta potty cost more than I expected?
The price covers more than the unit. It includes the truck trip both ways, a clean and deodorized unit, toilet paper and sanitizer, waste pumping and licensed disposal, and on long-term rentals, a weekly service visit.
Do you give discounts to churches and non-profits?
Churches, schools and registered non-profits can ask about a reduced rate when booking 3 or more units. Tax-exempt groups can send their exemption certificate before billing so tax comes off the invoice.
Is there a fuel surcharge or card fee on the bill?
There is no separate fuel surcharge and no credit card fee. The quote shows the unit, delivery and pickup, any add-ons such as same-day delivery, and sales tax. Nothing else is added later.
Units and supplies
How many people can one porta potty serve?
One standard porta potty serves about 50 guests at an event of up to 4 hours. On a jobsite, one unit with weekly service handles about 10 workers on a 40-hour week. Use the sizing calculator for your numbers.
Do porta potties smell bad?
A serviced unit has little odor. Each unit gets deodorizer in the tank, a vent stack pulls air up and out, and the lid stays down. Odor builds when a unit is overused or sits in full sun, so size correctly and pick a shaded spot.
Are party units different from the ones on construction sites?
Event units are kept separate from construction units. They go out cleaner, with no paint, tar or graffiti marks. Ask for event-grade units when you book a party, wedding or church event.
Do you supply toilet paper and hand sanitizer?
Every unit arrives with toilet paper and a filled hand sanitizer dispenser. Long-term units are restocked on each weekly service visit. For big events, keep a few spare rolls on hand between visits.
Can young children use a standard porta potty?
Children can use a standard unit with an adult nearby. The seat is a normal height and the door latches from inside. For lots of small kids, a wheelchair-accessible unit gives more room for a parent to help.
Cleaning and servicing
What does a service visit include?
A service visit includes 5 steps: pumping the waste tank, washing the inside surfaces, adding fresh deodorizer, restocking toilet paper and sanitizer, and refilling water on sink units. The driver then checks the door latch and vent.
Can I request an extra cleaning in the middle of my rental?
Extra service visits can be added to any rental by phone or text. Call a day ahead when you can. Busy summer jobsites and multi-day events are the most common reasons to add a visit.
What should never go into a porta potty?
Keep trash, diapers, wipes, paper towels, cigarette butts, food and liquids like grease or paint out of the tank. They clog the pump hose and can add a cleanup charge. Only waste and toilet paper go in.
What happens if the unit gets knocked over?
Call us right away at (843) 268-6817 and keep people away from any spill. We send a crew to stand the unit up, clean up and swap it if needed. Tipping from weather or normal use is on us; vandalism is billed.
Long-term rentals
Is a month the same as 28 days on my bill?
Long-term rentals bill every 28 days, not by calendar month. A unit delivered on March 3 starts its second cycle on March 31. Thirteen cycles cover a full year.
Will my card be charged on its own each cycle?
Long-term rentals renew automatically every 28 days on the card on file, and an emailed receipt follows each charge. Contractors with an approved account get an invoice each cycle instead.
How do I end my rental and stop billing?
Call or text (843) 268-6817 and ask for pickup. Billing stops on the day you request pickup, and the crew collects the unit within 2 business days. There is no refund for unused days inside a cycle already billed.
Can I get copies of past receipts?
Copies of past receipts and invoices can be emailed any time. Give us the delivery address or the name on the order, and we resend them the same business day.
Rules and requirements
How many toilets does OSHA require on a construction site?
OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51 requires 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers, and 1 toilet seat plus 1 urinal per 40 workers above 20. A standard unit has both. See the construction toilet page for our servicing advice.
Does my event need a wheelchair-accessible unit?
Public events should include at least 1 wheelchair-accessible unit, and at least 5% of units in each cluster under the 2010 ADA Standards, section 213.2. Private backyard parties are not covered the same way, but older guests appreciate one.
Do I need hand washing stations if food is served?
Plan 1 hand wash station for every 3 toilets when food is served, or choose deluxe units with sinks inside. Food vendors may have their own health rules, so check with your event organizer.
Payment, changes and cancellations
Is payment due when I book or when you deliver?
Event rentals are paid in full when booked, which holds your unit and date. Long-term rentals charge the first 28-day cycle at booking. There is no cash on delivery.
Do you take checks or cash?
Payments are by Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover, over the phone or through a secure link. Contractors with an approved account can pay invoices by check.
Can someone else pay for my rental?
Another person can pay by phone or through the payment link we send them. A landlord, a contractor or a family member can cover the bill while the unit goes to your address.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancel 48 hours or more before delivery for a full refund. Inside 48 hours, a $75 trip fee applies. Same-day orders cannot be refunded once the truck leaves. Full terms are on the rental terms page.
Can I change my delivery date after booking?
Date changes are free with 24 hours' notice, as long as a unit is open on the new date. Call or text (843) 268-6817 with the new date and we update the order and send a new confirmation.
Who pays if a unit is damaged during my rental?
Normal wear is on us. The renter pays for damage from vandalism, fire, misuse or moving a unit without our crew. Lock the unit at night at public sites to lower the risk.
