Can you deliver a porta potty onto Shaw Air Force Base?
Delivery onto Shaw AFB works when the base contact is ready. Gate staff call the person receiving the unit to confirm it, so we need their name, address and phone. The Visitor Control Center at 1000 Shaw Dr. is open weekdays 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM; on Saturday the Main Gate guard handles it.
Drivers pass a background check that stays good for 1 year, so the first base delivery takes the longest. Book base jobs a day or two early. Base rules are on the Shaw AFB base access page.
Who issues building permits in Sumter County?
Sumter County Building Inspections at 12 West Liberty Street in Sumter issues residential and commercial permits (see the county site for current contact details). Inspection requests made before 3 PM on a workday are generally set for the next workday. Every permit also needs a zoning check and a contractor license check.
A crew needs a toilet from the first day on site. See office details at Sumter County Building Inspections, and our jobsite toilet page explains OSHA counts and weekly service.

What should Sumter County event hosts book?
Sumter County event hosts should book at least 1 wheelchair-accessible unit, and 1 of every 20 units in each group. Spring is the busy stretch: the Iris Festival runs in May, and the 2026 parade took entries until April 24. Book spring dates early, because one route carries every Sumter order that day.
The accessible unit is about 87 inches square, so it needs a flat, open spot with no step. Our wheelchair-accessible unit page lists the size and features.
