How far ahead must a Charleston event get its permit?

The City of Charleston Special Events Committee wants applications 60 days ahead for events under 500 people, 90 days for 500 to 999, and 120 days for 1,000 or more. Paper applications are no longer accepted, and the non-refundable fee is what holds your date.

Where can a unit go on a tight peninsula lot?

Peninsula lots in 29401 and 29403 often have narrow side yards and little off-street space. A standard unit is about 44 inches wide and needs a 48-inch gate, and our dolly reach is about 50 feet. A restroom trailer needs 30 feet of straight access, which many downtown lots lack.

A unit in the street, on a sidewalk or in a parking space needs city approval before we set it. Ask the city about street use while you file your event or building permit. Low spots that flood on high tides are also a poor choice, so pick the highest firm ground on the lot.

What happens to Charleston rentals when a hurricane is coming?

Charleston County has set hurricane evacuation zones, and the state orders evacuations by zone. Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30. Before a named storm, we lay units down, strap them or pick them up on request, and we return once roads reopen and the site is safe.

For weddings on the coast, compare restroom trailers and sink units, then check our other routes on the service area map.

Charleston porta potty rental questions

What does a restroom trailer cost for a Charleston wedding?

A 2-stall restroom trailer starts at $1,150 for a weekend, a 3-stall at $1,550 and a 4-stall at $1,950. Charleston adds a distance trip fee quoted by mileage. If the venue has no power, our generator starts at $175 per day.

Can a porta potty go on a downtown Charleston street?

A unit on a city street, sidewalk or parking space needs City of Charleston approval first. Private lots and driveways do not. We place units on level, firm ground and keep them out of tidal low spots.

How early should I book restrooms for a 600-person Charleston event?

The city wants an application 90 days ahead for 500 to 999 people. Book restrooms right after the date is approved, and no later than 3 weeks before. Larger events need units counted per our sizing guide.

Do you deliver to Daniel Island and James Island?

Daniel Island (29492) and James Island (29412) are both on our Charleston route. The trip fee is quoted by mileage from Florence, so the exact address sets the price.

Is a renovation porta potty in Charleston billed monthly?

Long-term units are billed every 28 days and include one weekly service. A standard unit starts at $165 per cycle plus $60 one-time delivery, plus the distance trip fee. Billing stops the day you call for pickup.

Will you pick up units before a hurricane reaches Charleston?

Units can be laid down, strapped or picked up before a named storm on request. Call as soon as a watch is posted, since every coastal route fills fast once evacuations start.
